Broome is known for the beaches, pearling and diverse culture. Broome was established as a pearling town was in the 1880s, By 1910 Broome was the largest pearling centre in the world. Today South Sea cultured pearls produced in the waters around Broome are still some of the best in the world.

Cable beach is a well known tourist hotspot, the 18kms of long white sandy beach covers and uncovers with the extremely diverse tides, offering a playground for visitors with camel rides. Cable Beach at low tide reflects a West Australian sunset, displaying vibrant colours.
